Iron Bird store now carries a beautiful set of armillary spheres. This astronomical instrument will visualise path of the sun and planets during the course of year. Configuration of eight rings will show relation of equinoxes and solstices and also give you an idea of path of the sun and planets.

It’s also a piece of art itself and during the past armillary sphere was the symbol of highest knowledge.

The set comes with two spheres. The bigger one is perfect to place in garden while the smaller one will fit on your desk. Simple chat commands allow you to orientate the sphere’s axis towards Polaris and rotate the sphere around the axis.

Orrery

Orrery

Orrery is a mechanical device that is used to display position of celestial bodies. This particular model displays all planets and the sun of our solar system. Device is built inside of slowly rotating globe. Outer surface of the globe displays map of earth and the globe can be completely closed. While the globe is closed, orrery itself is hidden, but the map of earth on surface of the globe is displayed.

Orrery comes with a wooden stand that houses the globe. Diameter of the globe is one meter and the mechanism inside is slightly smaller.
