Display module can be folded on front of the eye or side of the head and has 4 different modes with animations. Spectrum display on the headphone part is animated and antenna on the back can be hidden. All of this is of course menu driven, so users don’t need to memorize chat commands.

Price for this little gadget is 100L$ and it comes with automatic update script that will deliver possible new versions of the gadget automatically and free of charge.

New freebie

Utility Belt

Utility Belt

Remember the old utility belt that has been for sale for a while already? It’s now avaialable free of charge, so now is your chance to get it without paying anything. It’ll be freebie from now on and I won’t be selling it for money anymore.

It’s one of the early works I did, and I quite like it still. If you check the little buttons, you’ll see a familiar logo there.

Gift Vouchers

I purchased and set up hippoGift system today. I’m selling Gift Vouchers at my main store at Blorkus and they can be redeemed for items there. Nothing fancy so far, but they are quite nice if you want to give something as a present, but don’t really know what would suit best from the store.

There are couple of limitations still. The biggest one is that partial purchases are not supported. So if the voucher has 40L$ left in it and item you want is 50L$, you can’t use the voucher. I’m hoping that the feature will be added in the future, since it would make vouchers so much handier to use

Even worse is if you end up with voucher that has only few lindens left on it. Luckilly I can always add more credit on the card. So don’t throw those odd cards away, but figure what you would like to have and ask me to update the saldo correctly (I would naturally have to charge this amount).

For future I have some plans (hazy still, nothing really solid yet) to use the cards for promotions or similar things. If you have comments or ideas about the system, I would be delighted to hear them.

Winter Solstice 2008

Today it’s winter solstice. Day in the northern hemisphere is shortest in whole year and past polar circle the sun doesn’t rise at all. On the other hand, situation on the southern hemisphere is completely opposite, the day is longest and past polar circle, the sun doesn’t set.

From now on, the days will be getting longer (or shorter if you happen to be on the southern hemisphere), until in half a year the situation has reversed itself. Days in north are long and in south they are short. In halfway to there, there is spring equinox, when day and night are equally long.

What does this have to do with Second Life? Not much, except that my neat little geocentric model shows the situation nicely (two pictures after the break) ;P

If you are living north and dislike darkness, remember that from now on the days will be getting longer and summer getting closer. And if you happen to be at south, now it’s time to enjoy the long days and short nights.

Christmas Sale

I decided to have a christmas sale and placed a vendor which is selling everything with 50% discount. If that is not great enough, you have to remember that the vendor has gifting capabilities. You can buy items and have them sent to somebody else.

So, drop by, check demo items indoors and maybe purchase something nice with great discount. I’ll be removing the vendor on Monday midnight (+2 GMT), so the offer won’t be valid that long.

Scripted Headsets

Scripted Headset

Scripted Headset

After I realised how many of those freebie headsets people were getting, I wanted to create more updated version of it. The scripted version has a colour changer script and particle poofer for musical notes and everything is menu driven.

However, best thing about this (at least in my opinion) is that it’s both copyable and modifiable. It can be easily used as a base for own pair of headsets that nobody else has.

Set of Headphones

Set of Headphones

Set of Headphones

This weekend I wanted to create something simpler than heavily scripted items I have been working recently. I chose to do a set of headphones and release them as freebies. Since the textures are shades of grey, these can be tinted to different colours easily.

Amusement Park

A post at Second Life forums caught my eye. It was about an indoor rollercoaster that I of course decided to check out at Venusian sim. The indoor rollercoaster was right next to me and after riding it twice, I started exploring rest of the sim.

OS Labs

This morning I returned to OS Labs Minimall and set up a vendor there. I used to sell items there and it was one of the few places that was actually worth it. Not to mention that every time I dropped by there, I got to see all neat items other people were selling. In the end I wasn’t updating my item selection enough and decided to have a break.

Now I have returned and the Minimall looks as nice as always. I haven’t ever been fond of big shopping malls full of stuff, but this place is different. Only two storeys high, compact and well designed. No fear of getting lost or overwhelmed by hundreds and hundreds of sellers.

OS Labs also have their own website, where you can check some of their products, see store layout and browse screen shots.

The Pot Healer Adventure

“Arriving in Numbakulla, an explorer finds that fate and a shipwreck has cast them ashore in a land of mystery.”

The Pot Healer Adventure is interactive adventure game, where you get to explore a sim full of secrets and hidden places. Over course of time, I have visited there several times, poking around and just admiring the location. Today I went there and found some more clues and hidden spots that I hadn’t spotted before. I haven’t solved the game yet, but I’m definitely enjoying my visits there.

I’m quite amazed that such a place was created in the first place and then left open for people to explore. Amount of work that must have gone into designing and building the whole sim must be high. There are no charges or fees to pay, but the whole place is accessible for everyone. There are tip jars around, but they blend into surroundings well and don’t distract from the adventure.

I took some photos while exploring and posted some of them at the end of the posting. Nothing too revealing, all these locations are easily accessible from the start and the photos should not spoil the adventure for you.
